Hi Everyone,
I don’t know how you feel but I am pretty shattered!
5:00am start for most of us as our day unfolded – boats arrived, trailers unloaded tent’s went up, tables went in and before you knew it our village was ready. Then the cars came and came and came 530 paddlers who knew!
Then to the gratitude of many our porta loos arrived and as people came out from behind trees, bushes and cars ………. the first thing on our new list is porta loos book for 5:00am check!
For me the big relief was when the first race started – because no matter what goes on behind the scenes those 530 paddlers were here to race and race they did – fast and furious. Race times were loaded on to our web site and on to face book “real time” so very few people were hanging around the administration tent.
Every club member gave what was required to ensure the successful day we had – all with a smile. No drama queens, (except possibly me) with family, friends and children lending a helping hand. Please Broady paddlers thank your family, friends and children on behalf of the club their help was greatly appreciated.
Can I ask the team leaders or any of the club members to identify anything that needs to be improved on for next year; simple things like paper weights to more golf carts for use, please note not all requests can be granted.
Will anything go wrong now if I say that everything went so smoothly even our racing was 20 minutes ahead? Each team, tent and foot patroller worked together to meet the expectations of the sports paddlers. Thank you - thank you - thank you I can’t say it enough!
You know after a race we put our hands in to thank each other for the hard work done……….. Well everyone:
BROADWATER IN 3 2 1 .............
With heartfelt thanks
Roze
